About Me....
Starting at a very young age, I was overjoyed helping both Grandmothers with anything to do with baking. Tasting, of course, being my absolute favorite part of it all. I mean, who in their right mind doesn't want a little taste of what's going on in the kitchen, especially when it's something sweet? I was lucky enough to spend time with two very different Grandmothers, each of whom had, in my opinion, some of the best dessert recipes I'd ever tasted. One Grandmother had owned and run several restaurants over the years and not only was she a great dessert maker but her homemade biscuits were pretty amazing. She became pretty famous in the last small town she lived in TN. My other Grandmother was just a home baker that almost everyone in the small town we lived in knew and loved. She was admired in her church and always showed up with a dessert in hand for every function. Most Sundays after church were spent at her home where she had prepared a feast before she left that morning for church. I surely miss those days!
Fast forward many years later and my daughter began to help me at a very young age, in the kitchen. Throughout her high school years, we started a home baking business just during holidays. She's now in college and we continue our holiday business. She has grown so much in her skills and has surpassed me in the decorating department.
After years of baking mostly for family and friends, I decided it was time to share some of our recipes and techniques. Please feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. I'm not a trained chef of any kind but I promise I'll do my best to add some of the most tasty recipes that I've used over the years. Keep in mind that not everyone is the same so what one person may like, someone else may not. That's okay. All I ask is that you try to be as nice and respectful as possible to me and each other. Why not?? We are all just here trying to make it through each day, let's try to do it with kindness.
